University of Rochester - Wilson Commons Mosaic Gallery
About the Mosaic
The University of Rochester, Wilson Commons Mosaic began as a project with the students at the University of Rochester, led by Jill Gussow and later completed by the artist. It celebrates the diverse student population of the University by using, as a design motif, some symbols and patterns that are typical of those cultures.
It is created with 4 ¼", hand-painted, manufactured tiles. The mosaics are hand-cut, manufactured, and hand glazed tiles. There are six panels, each 3' by 4'.
